Prepare for the battle!

So the armour of God. Sounds pretty cool and maybe its a guy thing. But the point is we ALL have to be warriors of God! Man and women! To do this you gotta know what they are and do. Pretty much they are all interlinked in some way shape or form!

Belt of Truth
Breastplate of Righteousness
Sandals of Peace of the good word
Shield of Faith
Helmet of Salvation
Sword of the Spirit (haha or smite for the boys)

The belt of truth. The meaning of truth as we all should know is conformity to facts or reality and by just being honest. Lying is going to get you no where! Trust me i know lol. By being honest you can't go wrong! It's also about having integrity. Integrity (abiding to ethical and moral principles) is so important. Because obviously we were given the 10 commandments to follow and the fact we want to be more like Jesus! We need to be more honest to each other, not shift the subject and to God as well! You cant hide anything from him. Thats just silly. If you just be honest to whoever you could feel so much better and also people will TRUST you!

The breastplate of righteousness, this will protect your heart from harm! The meaning for righteous is being morally upright without guilt or sin. For this we need to give up our sins to God. We cant hold on to them or they will destroy us! Guilt eats away at us aswell (whether small or big). We also need to give that to God. Your heart is SO important! It's how we love others (etc) and our life force. Without that we are dead! Love is a huge thing about being christian! We have to love everyone (lol i find it hard, maybe one day ill get it), i love ma family and ma friends! We need to show our love to others as well! The breastplate will help us protect ourselves against the devil!

The sandals of peace of the good word (aka the bible)! If you have your sandals on, your less likely to stumble or stub your toes on something. By reading the bible this will enlighten and teach you the ways of God. It will help you to walk with him, walk like him and go straight! If you read the bible and take it in, it will lead you (hopefully) on a straight path of the christian life. Its so important to be doing this. Because i know for me walking the walk and talking the talk aint ma strong point. I just tend to keep the talk and the walk on the DLO so i dont get pulled up on it lol. But lately ive changed and im trying to walk the walk more and i do the talk a whole lot more! These are the things which set us aside from the rest! This makes others want to be in a relationship with God!

Shield of faith. Your faith is your main groundwork or in this context your first and main source of protection! Faith is the confident belief in the truth or values of something or someone! Confident is the key word there =D We all need more faith. I certainly do! Even though people say i have a strong faith, i still doubt my faith at some points. Not as in God, i mean like as in how good my faith is and how far it will take me. The truth is faith in God is limitless and with it you can do endless things (live huge dreams and perform miracles)! Without faith in God, you dont believe in God! With little faith you wont be motivated to read your bible, pray, believe in what is preached and so on! Faith gives us motivation to do all these things and it also makes us passionate about God (you have to have passion!).

The helmet (baseball cap haha) of salvation protects our minds and head from hurt. The definition is the preservation or deliverance from evil, destruction or difficulty. So its the deliverance from power and penalty of sin, it brings us redemption. Our mind is so important lol for the fact is we use it to think. (lol i do at least, some people you cant tell what goes on... nemo =) shh) If the devil gets into our minds, he can make us doubt everything, depress us and wreak all kind of havoc. We must REMEMBER Jesus died on the cross for our sins! We dont need to worry about them, give them up and you will get forgiveness. (Dont be stupid though, you peeps should know by now!) So with the thoughts of salvation in our minds we are protected from evil and difficulty. Although if our hearts not connected to our mind (or breastplate with our helmet) they can cancel each other out and leave us wide open!

Last but not least, sword of the spirit! The only part in the armour which is for attack purposes. The definition is the vital principle or animating force within living beings! lol. So pretty much if we have the spirit within us, we are armed to go out into the world and make a difference! We are able to do things with the power of God! We need to invite the spirit in to our bodies to give us strength, definition and a purpose. Without the holy spirit we are nothing but humans.

So equip yourself with the parts of armour and prepare for the battle. Beacuase wherever you go you will need it! The battle started since the beggining of time and it still rages within our homes, our neighbourhood and our world. Be prepared!
